It's A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood

"I'm putting my rainbow in the clouds, a sign of the covenant between me and the Earth."
Genesis 9:13 (The Message)

Wow!  What a show God gave us last night!
Thunder, lightning, and tornadoes!
And now the calm after the storm.
It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood to enjoy God's creation.

Tornado Warning

"Toto, I don't think we're in Nashville anymore!"
That's correct, we had a tornado warning today, Tuesday January 17, 2012.
We woke everyone up at 1:00 and took cover from the storms until 1:30.
We had a lot of hard rain, wind, some thunder and lightning, but the worst of the storm stayed south of us.
Everyone did GREAT!

Pickle Taste Test

What do you do on your first "snowflake" day off from school?
You have a pickle taste test.
After having a conversation with the 3's and 4's about pickles, Ms. Valerie decided to go to the store a purchase three different kinds of pickle for everyone to try.
The DILLS were great.
No one liked the SWEETS.
A few liked the BREAD and BUTTER.

Puppet Truck

Thank you to the Nashville Public Library for bringing their puppet truck today!
Mr. Brett and Mr. John did a great job perfoming The Stonecutter.
We have been reading and listening to the story on audio for a couple of weeks and were excited to see the book brought to life through puppets.

Mr. Brett and Mr. John answering questions.

Everyone was quiet and well behaved.

Mr. John "handling" a puppet.
